Since retiring from the army,a good while ago now,nearly 15 years ago,i try my best to get out of the house as much as i can,ive no real need to stay at home.While in the army as a chef Sergant,iserved my country on 12 counts overseas,its not the same as i used to be,we got are moneys worth,it6s all changed now,guarding pointless posts,as they do. "Old soldier old shite,young soldier goobshite".While serving the irish army,i was rarely home,didnt get to spend much time with my wife and children.Even after my retirement,i still found it difficult to bound with my kids,kids wouldn really be the rightr description for them,scene as my youngest is 31 years of age now.They stayed home for as long as they possibly could,and all left one after the other.We were all here this time 3 years agos and im now the only remaining,il be here if any of them decide to come back.My eldest daughter Sarah is the most likely to return home,her husband Pau;l terrible for the dirty drink,hed drink you under the table and hed drink the table too if he could.It took him 17 years to make an honest woman out of her,and i still feel he only proposed in his drunken state,a sure,she loves him so she says.Her mother was fairly fond of Paul,shared the same hobby,it wasnt really my call,i was forced into more of a background role.I wasnt around enough to comment.My wife and i have been fairly distant all our lives,were an old fashioned couple,she done her thing,i done mine.Ever since her stroke,shes in and out of the nursing home,its the best place for here,they can look after her better than i can.I bring her home the odd time.She misses the house,shes wo0rked so hard to keep it in shape and the way it is now.
